10 April 2014 Easter Holiday Announcement

The Consulate General of Germany and The Visa Application Centre in Dubai will remain closed on 20, 21 April 2014 on the Occasion of Easter.

Applicants are requested to consider above holiday while preparing their visa application. The next working day will be on 22 April 2014.

The German Consulate General, Dubai U.A.E. has appointed VFS as the outsourced partner to facilitate visa applications to main destination Germany.

The Visa Application Centre in Dubai is designed to facilitate visa application process for UAE nationals and other nationals holding a valid Resident Permit issued by one of the following Emirates:
Fujairah; Ajman or

All other applicants need to apply through the Application Center in Abu Dhabi

With the introduction of the Schengen Visa-Kodex, the Visa Information System (VIS), all information leaflets and application forms have changed, as well as our website. Information Leaflets and Forms can either be downloaded from this website or can be collected free of charge at the Visa Application Centre
The duration of the application process at the Visa Application Centre can take 30 to 45 minutes per person.
Please note Effective 2 October 2012, all applicants aged 12 years and above will need to appear in person in order to provide their biometric data.

Step 1 : Prepare your application and supporting documents:
Go to 'All about your visas' link on this website and find out details related to the visa category you want to apply for – here, you can find the applicable fee, documents required, Visa application form and more. Kindly visit the link for details on Schengen Visa criteria
Step 2 : Book an appointment (Mandatory)
Effective 2nd October 2012, all visa applications will be accepted at the Application Centre through prior appointments only. Booking an appointment is free of charge and is subject to availability. More details available under Schedule an Appointment.

Medical Treatment:
In case the purpose of your travel is for medical purposes, you may walk into the Application Centre and enquire about an earlier appointment subject to approval from the German Consulate. All related documents will be required.
Step 3 : Submit your application:
Visit Visa Application Centre in person as per appointment scheduled and submit your completed Visa Application Forms along with required supporting documents. The visa application process may take up to half an hour due to the change in processes. The original passport must be submitted along with the application and can be collected once the visa application process is complete. Temporary withdrawal of the passport is not allowed during the processing period.
In cases where withdrawal of passport is extremely necessary,the applicant will need to email the Consulate General of Germany on Consequently the whole application will be withdrawn and all the submitted original-documents including the passport will be returned from the Consulate to the applicant via VFS.
Once a passport and application have been withdrawn, the applicant has to apply again for a new visa.
Step 4: Pay applicable Fee:
Please check 'Visa Fee' table provided under the visa category you are applying for. Visa Application Centre accepts the fee in CASH ONLY. A receipt will be provided for all payments made at the Centre.

This service will provide an update on the location of your application. Please note the original payment receipt will be required during collection.

If you have already submitted an application for a visa at the visa application centre you can track your application. Click here.

You can track the application by entering Reference Number/Date of Birth along with the passport number.

Representatives visiting the Visa Application Centre to collect the passport will need to hold an Authorization Letter along with the original receipt for the application. A copy of the representative’s ID card should also be attached.
